Welcome to Beyond the Groove Records, a Melodic Techno, Deep House, Techno, and Tech House focused record label that explores the deeper and darker side of house music, with hypnotic melodies and pulsating rhythms open to experimentation and innovation. 

We are not just a label, we are a community of artists and fans who share a passion for the underground culture of house music.

Beyond the Groove Records was founded in 2023 by James Williams, a 22-year-old producer and DJ from the Coastal Los Angeles area. He releases his tracks under the name “ripper’.

Ripper began producing music when he was 15, starting with hip hop but soon ventured into the electronic music scene, inspired by the culture in his hometown and favorite artists.

Beginning with Tech House, he soon developed his own style of Melodic Techno, blending elements of Techno, Progressive, and Ambient music. 

He decided to create Beyond the Groove Records as a platform to showcase his own music and to support other emerging talents in the progressive house scene.

He dreamed of creating a label that was not limited by genres or trends, but that was open to experimentation and innovation. He also wanted to create a label that was not only focused on music, but also on the visual and aesthetic aspects of the house music culture.

Beyond the Groove Records is more than just a record label, it’s a lifestyle. We aim to create immersive experiences for our listeners, through our music, our events, our merchandise, and our website.

We want to take you on a journey beyond the groove, into a world of sound and vision that will inspire you.
